Help! Dog getting TOO aggressive?

Jacey C asked:

My dog (half chihuahua, half pug) has been getting more and more aggressive lately. He is usually calm and silly, but ever since we’ve gotten a female dog, my male dog has been getting meaner. The female has knotted with my OTHER male dog (I have three in total). My first dog has been getting meaner to my second male dog. I’ve had them long before the girl, and they usually fight playfully, but never enough to draw blood. The first, aggressive dog is neutered. We are trying to breed my second male and the female. We think she may be pregnant.

Okay, maybe I didn’t clarify. We think she’s pregnant from my second dog, which is what we wanted. We’re not trying to breed her after she is already pregnant?

I think your neutered male is trying to keep his position in the “pack”. You are top dog, he’s 2nd, other male, 3rd, etc… Now you have the female which is causing the intact male to be dominant over her. Perhaps the neutered male is feeling threatened by the change and wants to “remind” the other male who’s boss. Good luck.

If you are with your female dog to much then ur male dog might be jealous

I would call in a behavorist, to see what is bothering him and see if he/she can solve the problem.

k take everyone to the vet na dhave everyone fixed because this is not a healthy situation for any involved..you are in for a world of hurt..and so is your little guy. If you THINK she is pregnant why are you trying to breed her? Get the boys all fixed let her have her pups and get her done too..people are going to be mad st you..

Ultimately you are headed for disaster in this situation. The males are instinctively fighting for dominance and the right to breed. This could end up in severe fighting or death of one of the males.

I was going to say try taking them for walks together, but if you think she may be pregnant it is best to keep her away from other dogs outside. It sounds like he is trying to be dominate. I dont want to be judgmental but where you aware of this before you wanted to breed? You must be careful with a pregnant dam…and the work invovled should be studied very well

an aggressive dog problem needs to be addressed. you may want to consult with a professional trainer and get some advice. this problem will continue to get worse if you don’t do anything to stop them now. if he has bit and punctured the other dogs skin get it to a vet. it could get infected or may have punctured the muscle which can be painful and dangerous.

    good luck!

Well it looks like they are trying to get in front of each other in the “pack”. You should be the “alpha” and they all should be beneath that. Do things like eat before they eat ir they will think they are the ones getting the meal first. Also stepping outside you step out first or command them. When they act up be a pack leader. Claw them, growl, some people go as far as slobbering and showing there teeth but make sure they are submitting to you (meaning on their side or back ears down and legs up). My advice is to establish dominance before you get any other dog and let them know there place. Hope I helped. =)
